The most meaningful part about this project to me was all the words of encouragement to start my own business that Jodi provide to me. Since she’s a close family friend it helps more because I can have her around if I ever needed help. The way she talked about her love and passion for her business really encouraged me more to start something of my own. I don’t do well with following instructions from others so its in my best bet to have it on my own. After doing this project it has structed me to be one witgh my business wih makeup. Makeup is something I know I have a strong talent for and it is my “happy place” so for me to strive in that will be great
I honestly just got a lot of advice and insight on what I need to do with my future. Me and my entrepreneur didn’t really talk about much else. I liked the fact I had a while to do this because it was so hard finding someone to do this for me for the sake of everyone is busy with work.

I absolutely love business and this gave me a chance to engage more with a
topic that I adore. More importantly, it forced me to talk with people. I'm generally a quiet and reserved person and prefer to listen rather than speak, this project gave me an opportunity to socialize but in a way that allowed me to listen attentively to someone who knows a great deal about where I want to go. I don't want to go into construction, per-say, but my conversation further validated my thoughts about formal education and helped me to see the bigger picture when it comes to running a business. It is a multifaceted mess and if you don't get on-top of everything, it can and will consume you.

This discussion also allowed me to gain invaluable insight into why I want to start a business and not work for one. As the business owner indicated, working for him and his partner can be awful for employees who aren't great matches for their personalities and style. If you enter a startup or small firm and aren't a good cultural match, you could end up miserable and ineffective. So, you can either job search with impossible criterion or start your own business. Maybe the safest and least stressful way to move through life is to get into a corporate job. You have little to no responsiblity for payroll, the major stresses of operating the business and the liability that comes with that is completely off your shoulders. This is the life many choose because it's easier - mentally. If you want to do more, if you're willing to push yourself, and you don't mind sweating a bit, then starting a business is the best way to go.

Prepare. It meant a lot to me that the business owner I spoke with was adamant that nothing will prepare you for starting your own business more than starting your own business. Experiential knowledge, to me anyway, will always be best. I love listening to stories from people who have been where I want to go because you're getting 'experience' for a fraction of the price. The mistakes the business owner talked about are one's I took note of over and over because those are issues I hope to avoid when I get into business myself.

I think the most meaningful part of this project was this lady took time out of her busy lifestyle and schedule and came to my home personally to be able to help me as a young aspiring entrepreneur gain and obtain knowledge to be successful. Getting to know her side of the story really helps broaden my eyes so that I can get ready and start my business on my own. Also that most people that are in her field are males, so seeing a female thrive and become successful in a male dominant business is also very inspiring to me. I believe i can be successful with the proper tools and the proper timing.

What was most meaningful about this project was how passionate he was about his business. I could really tell he loved what he does and I want to feel the same way about my business. I thought it was going to be difficult to find someone who was willing to spend time and answer these questions but he was very enthusiastic about it. I think he just really wants to share his story and help upcoming entrepreneurs like himself and see them succeed.
Doing this project gave me a lot of insight of what I need to learn more about and how to start my own business and help it grow and become successful. It really has me thinking now of what steps I need to take to get my business started because this project really just solidified my quest for owning a business. Owning my own business is something that I am passionate about and it is something that I really want to do so being able to interview someone was extremely helpful.

The most meaningful thing about this project to me was the good insight of even little things that can affect the way how a business is run. I didn't realize that an election would hinder a business for several months because their demographic consisted of a population that had an unwarranted fear. This gave me a lot of insight as it showed me that I need to consider more as to what will affect the business I want to own in the future and what is going to affect it. Also, the price of gold getting higher, having to choose between raising prices or lowering the profit margin was very helpful because it was a good example of making tough decisions as a business owner.
The second most meaningful part of this project was seeing how important it is to have a good relationship with your vendors and also what you can expect when looking for a vendor. In a capitalist society I always assumed that the vendor would sell to whoever was going to give them the best price but clearly that isn't the case. Even though I disagree with it, vendors are going to be biased based on race and this should be taken into consideration when looking for a vendor. The tip about looking for the newer vendor because they aren't going to have a bias was incredibly helpful. Before he said that I thought I would only have to look for white vendors but that’s not the case.

For myself there are two key things I learned from this interview the first being how and where to establish credit and the importance of cash flow. Before this interview I probably would have never thought about going to a smaller bank for my business needs. I probably would have gone straight to a larger bank and probably would have been extremely disheartened and unsure on what to do if they turned me down. Now I have the knowledge on how to properly build business credit and how to climb the ladder without falling or faltering.
The other most important thing as I mentioned is cash flow. I’ve noticed a lot a business quickly come into being but die quickly and always wondered why. I used to ask myself as a child if you have the money to go into business then why are you failing? Now I know that they probably put everything into the business without ever having any other means of cash flow whether it is from a regular paying job or from passive income. Now prior to beginning my entrepreneurial dreams I will have a job that will hopefully allow me to heavily invest in some sort of passive income as an insurance for myself. If for whatever reason those ventures struggle I will be prepared financially without ever having to worry about a ‘Big Deal’ paying off and saving the venture.

The most meaningful thing about this project is the first hand experience that I had through the eyes of another entrepreneur. It helped me with the things that I should expect when I want to start my own business. It has also given me the opportunity to bounce Ideas off of another business person, and they have given me feedback. Having someone to give give you ideas in an area that you were unfamiliar with can be extremely valuable because they may have experience, whereas you may not have. This project has given me hope that I can be successful if I try my hardest and try to survive the peaks and valleys.
This project also means a lot to me because I have built a relationship with this person, and anytime I have a problem relating to business I can ask this person and they will help me anyway possible. This is important to have because you need someone to be with you, especially since I will be a beginner at being a business owner. To conclude, this project has helped me get some insight on what it's like to be a business owner. I have been told the very best, and the struggles of owning a business. I have been told what it takes to endure hardships, and I have been given tips in what I should focus on.

The most meaningful advice about this project to me is the advice that I received at the end. This advice was important to me because it illustrated to me how important it is to get hands on training form an experienced person in the line of work that I am trying to get into. It is important that the one is instructing you is experienced because if they are not experienced then the advice they give will no be the most impactful advice due to them not being able to fully grasp the different situations that a business can and might be in. Also by working with an experienced entrepreneur I can see how they react to the varying problems that confront them, which will then give me better insight in the future when my business runs into similar problems.
This goes perfectly with the other advice that they gave me, which is to not just jump into trying to run my own business without having any experience and to not have the mentality that I know everything, it is good to have an open mentality, taking in the criticisms and problems that confront me. It will beneficial for me to continue with my education to take classes on how to learn about some of the basic features of businesses. By learning the backbone of how any business works will be a great way to get ahead of your competitors because if one does not know these things before getting into the business one will have to learn on the fly while running a business, which can impede it. The time put into learning these things while on the job can be put to much better use if one already knows these things beforehand.

The most memorable thing about doing this project was that I got to spend a lot of time with my mom and see from her point of view of how she got inspired into owing her own business, but originally, she never wanted to until she felt that the time was right for her. I remember when she was first starting out and how nervous she was hoping her business will last and grow her cliental to where she would be booking nonstop appointments. She says it’s exhausting, but is glad that she is getting more responsibility than she has ever has. She helped open my eyes into seeing that owning a business is not as easy as it seems. She says it takes time and patience for it to be successful. She has thrived ever since owing her business and loves every moment of it.

I think her advice that she gave me will help realize on what I want to do and too not rush it, but as well as not forgetting about my goals in life. One of my biggest goals is too own a business but I should jump the gun I should wait until an idea come to me in the interest I want to do. I did talk to people who gave her advice when she was opening up her business and they all correlated into one thing and that is too make it fun but as well take it seriously as well as start preparing and look into the type of business I would want to own one day. I think my mom is running her business great and that she will know when to hang up her owning shoes
