I have learned that being an entrepreneur and being a successful small business owner is not easy. Preparing for it ahead of time by taking classes you need to become successful in running a small business is very beneficial. Also, don't be afraid to ask for advice from anyone, be it friends and family, or complete strangers. Everyone has a different perspective of things and that can be very helpful in running a business to get as much feedback as possible. Little things that seem inconsequential will eventually add up and become a major problem unless you handle them directly and swiftly. |

This project had a lot of meaningful information for me. It not only helped me realize what a business has to do to stay competitive, but it also showed me how the whole world can affect a business’s performance. It was surprising to see how world news had such an effect from distributing the product to producing the product at all. It was really neat to see the planning and effort that went into the business and it was definitely helpful to see all the threats that can come your way when owning a business. The person I interviewed gave me lots of good ideas when it comes to starting up a business and how to maintain the growth. It was also interesting to find that they could have had an even better success if they had more of the information which I am receiving in class. This project also helped me understand the mindset of an entrepreneur. The personality and characteristics of a person can really affect how a business is run. In fact, a lot of what determines the business atmosphere is the ethics and emotion that are put into the work atmosphere. The best qualities of the business owner are often reflected in the business itself. Success comes from the person who put in a lot of time and effort to work towards that success. If I want to be a successful entrepreneur, I must first push myself to success before pushing an entire business ahead. This whole project was very inspiring for my future plans and I’m glad I had this opportunity to do this. It’s a great way to look towards the future. |

This is the first time I have had the opportunity to fully understand entrepreneurship. It's also my first time to think about questions related to entrepreneurship from the perspective of entrepreneurs. Through this interview project, the most meaningful thing I learned is that entrepreneurship is definitely not as easy as people think. To run a company is to always insist and be patient. It's not enough to start a business with a good idea. A reasonable project plan, a completed corporate strategic goal, and a certain amount of start-up capital are required. With all the above factors, we must also be prepared for failure. The other thing is, never start a business just for money. The "annoying little things" that entrepreneurs face and solve are far more numerous than when they are an employee. People who start a business only for money may easily give up their business and lead to entrepreneurial failure. The chances of success in starting a business are often to stay a little longer. |

In interviewing my person, I found what inner motivation is needed to pursue any new venture. The careful planning, the in-depth research and the honest motivation is needed to succeed. I learned not only what he wanted to do was very important, but if he wanted to share the experiences with his family they also needed to be motivated by it. The person I interviewed has other business ventures he started and is still involved with, that are not food related so this was a learning experience for him. He admitted to me that another relative was also in the restaurant business and did offer him some useful suggestions for vendors for his restaurant. He also went over his business plan in depth with his bank and was offered useful pointers. He has shown me that to have a business dream and to finally pursue it is the ultimate satisfaction. One day I would also like to pursue a business venture possibly relating to animals. After talking with him I know the areas that I should focus my attention on when setting my business goals. A takeaway that I thought was important while talking with him is that you need to do a lot of diligent planning and research to have a successful business which will grow. Having helpful information in order to set up a business plan, from a vision to reality can sometimes be hard but essential. |

What was most meaningful to me about this project is that being an entrepreneur it is crucial to be a risk taker. Being scared of what could happen when investing money can back fire. Along with this, it is guaranteed that you’re going to fail even if it’s more than once but everyone learns from mistakes and they become lessons for future reference. When taking a gamble to invest one never knows if they’re going to succeed but aside from that you’ll never know if you don’t try in the first place. What hit home for me as when Patrick said “be willing to live like other won’t so you can live like most people can’t”. It’s a great message to take in and always have that in the back of my mind to remember that it’s a gamble but has a high output for large profits if I succeed. Another message that ws meaningful to me was being educated on something before starting. Essentially what he was saying is do your homework before diving into the business, so you can be aware of what is to come and don’t get cornered when problems arise. This was very helpful, to me it puts me in the mind set of having a plan and knowing what to expect when pursuing a business startup. Lastly I would say a meaningful piece of advice was that I am going to fail but not to be scared because sooner or later it’ll pay off. Failure is a lesson learn from it, weather it’s in life or business. Being told this it lways sets a plan B for situations of failure, but having the courage to get back up and try again |

This project was meaningful to me because it helps give me more motivation to pursue my own dreams of relying on my own success for my paycheck instead of working towards someone else’s success for my paycheck. It has opened my eyes to try out my own small business ventures, starting off through third party websites possibly and then to one day have my own jewelry and crystal shop up and running. Bringing in enough revenue to support my hobby of making jewelry and collecting crystals would be a dream job. I would love to also sell in person at events or achieve the big goal of opening up my own little storefront. This project makes me feel as if I am capable of all this because the person interviewed is the same age as me and is still a college student themselves. Another reason this project was so meaningful to me was because the person I interviewed is also very special to me. I admire them greatly for what they have achieved at such a young age. I see such potential in them and a fire in them that will surely only lead to more success. I come from a family full of traditional ways, in that you get a job working for someone and you stay at that job until you no longer can. Even if you are not happy in what you are doing or who you are working for, you stay. That’s what my parents have always lived by, which I completely respect. But for me, I have always struggled with that idea, the life I have pictured in my head for my future does not line up with those traditional beliefs necessarily. I have always talked about trying to be my own boss and creating my own schedule by pursuing something I loved doing. Talking to the entrepreneur I interviewed I am given hope that my dreams of making my hobby into something that could grown, thrive, and support myself can come true if I take the risk and give it all I have. With hard work, perseverance, and focus on the bigger picture, I feel I too can begin my own entrepreneur opportunity towards my future goals in life. |

The most meaningful thing about this project to me would be that I got some of the knowledge it takes to be able to be a successful entrepreneur and have a successful business. Also being able to get someone’s else perspective how to run a business. There are so many ways to start up a business and how businesses fail so getting to learn about how one person runs there business was meaningful enough. I’ve never had a project like this so it opened my eyes that there are different paths you can take in business. There are so many different ins and outs about business that I didn’t really know before. Also people have different views on how to get into the business world. |

The most meaningful thing about this project was knowing the ins and outs of a salon business because I was thinking of maybe owning a salon. I also liked getting to know a salon owner because that could be a person to go to if i had any other questions. I got ideas on how to run a successful business and what not to do which was a big help. There are so many businesses out here that are successful and getting to look and find what interest me. Getting questions to ask other entrepreneurs in different field of buinesss like owning a gym. |

In my opinion there are many meaningful things that I got from this project. For example when the person I interviewed told me advice on what I needed to learn it stuck. His tips he gave really were great tips because they gave multiple ways to be successful in any aspect, not just business. He gave me pointers that could be used for school, or relationships, and even just everyday tasks. The tips he also gave me also gave me an interesting way of thinking about ways of going about life that I never realized. For example, the way he said stuff just made me think about tasks I needed to do that day way differently. Another meaningful thing I got from this project was the info my interviewer gave me about his business. I thought it was amazing how successful his business was at its prime and the number of clients he had. He had almost 500 employees that he had to in a way provide for because he if didn’t succeed, all his employees wouldn’t be able to provide for their families. So, when he mentioned that to me it made me think of my family and if I didn’t do well having so many people take the fall would make me feel sick. In a way it motivated him as well as me because if you want to be successful you to need to have a reason or a “why” to keep that drive going. In conclusion, this man is a perfect example of how to do things the right way in business and in life. |
