The most meaningful thing about this project was the trip. I saw the gold and it was beautiful. I spoke to another entrepreneur. This was meaningful because I took their advice. This advice can help me be successful. I asked questions and spent my time with them. This was meaningful because I learned what are the biggest challenges facing gold business right now. I learned to have friends so they can come back again. The trip was cool when I saw all the diamonds. I had never been in a place like this in the downtown area. The business owner will travel to see the new inventory of diamonds. This was meaningful because I will travel to see the good deals. |

The most meaningful thing about this project was realizing how much effort and work that you need to do. I come to a realization that a lot of entrepreneurs give up because they will so be defeated due to feeling over fatigue and worry about their financial standing. If you are not a risk taker and more of a safety kind of person it's preferably going to be harder for you to run the business, since it's high risk, She was really inspiring on how far she grew. Knowing them in high school and seeing them transition over time from drawing during class all the way to running a business shows me how far someone will go if they truly love something. It gives new appreciation on people who start their own business because I thought I would be easy since it's not as big as an actual kind of work, but it still does require the same amount of blood, sweat, and tears. If anything I think it would be harder to be financially successful in the art market. Speaking to them I came to the conclusion they don't do it for the money, they do it because they like to see what kind of an impact on a person. They told me that they can express their feelings and personality throughout, in which it shows a positive outlook look on life. Anyone can be an entrepreneur, the one who thrives on being one is those who can get out of their comfort zone |

What was most meaningful about this project for me was really getting to know my aunts business a lot more than I did already and knowing what she had to do and go through to open it. Getting in sight from someone that has gone through the process of actually opening up a business is very helpful. Knowing that I have someone that knows the ins and outs of starting their own small business to contact whenever i might need help gives me a sense of relief because i know she can help me whenever I decide to open up my own business. Having these kinds of conversations with someone that can actually help me get my business started in future is great to have often. Getting advice and finding someone that knows how to start a business was a really great experience. It made me realize that going out there and meeting new people that know what it takes to build, run, and grow a business will help me greatly in the long run. Asking them how they got started and how they got to where they are at know will only improve my knowledge when it comes time to start my business. Having a mentor to help me on my path to start a business is some very valuable and makes me want to meet more people and want to get to know their story to i can also learn from them. Taking advice and learning from the experience of other is something im going to do, accepting knowledge that will useful to me in the future. |

What makes this project so meaningful to me is about my moms journey on becoming a hairdresser. I’ve learned that my mom not only wanted to become a hairdresser but to work in film and theatre business. So she ended up becoming a bartender to a couple of until she had me and my baby brother. That same year when my baby brother was born ’94, that is when she wanted to become a hairdresser. To begin her career she would have go to a lot of vendors just to showcase her craft and learn from other vendors might have for her on becoming a hairdresser. 25 years later she is still going strong with new or old clients that still go to her because she is that loyal to her and treat they treat her like family. Another reason why I chose to do a project on my mom is that she does volunteer work with special needs kids and people that are going through health problems. This started out a few years ago when my mom noticed how some of the kids have or never have been to a hair salon. So she come up with an idea of transferring a professional salon booth at the school so the kids could have free hair cuts. My mom has a special talent with theses kids and how to control their emotions by talking to them to make them feel more comfortable and less scary. |

Mainly what was most meaningful to me was her reasons for getting into her business. Which were to help people out with problems that they came across and finding ways to help them out. She saw that people didn’t fully understand things about taxes and she saw that it was common among her friends, family, and coworkers. This showed me that she was content with her decision in pursuing business because she gains more satisfaction from helping people with a situation as well as providing information on why it works a certain way rather than just doing taxes. It is a quality that I would like to find in myself when I do decide to start my own business. I believe it is a good reason and intention to start a business. This project also allowed me to understand how and why my Mom operates the business the way she does. I gave me insight into things she values in her business and things she looks for when it comes to operating efficiently. Things such as the legalities behind running a business was an important topic because of understanding how much it is required to stay up to date on laws and regulations in order to keep the business safe and operational. This topic was interesting to me because having never talked to my mom about her business I never realized how much energy and time she invests into her business. Overall this project allowed me to pick the brain of an entrepreneur and helped me understand the qualities it takes to operate a business in a professional manner. It also showed me that information learned in class translates into the real world. |

One thing that i found super helpful was the topics he would go back and study. Like talking to customers properly because i think i have that problem too. I could really benefit from a speech/communications class. Back then they didn't have anything like that but now i'm sure we do. Now because of this interview i will really look into it. Also a financial class to teach me how to manage my money properly. I would love to be prepared so i can minimize the amount of money i have to lose. My main focus when i open my buisnes is going to be to make money so i need to know everything there is to know about my financing. Before doing this interview i probably wouldn't of thought so much about my fiances. Another thing i found super meaningful was the three things to help your business strive. I truly believe that the three tips that my entrepreneur gave me were the best possible answers he could of gave. I learned so much that i didn't know about starting my business. I realized i'm not quite ready to open my business yet. I feel like i need to put more thought into what i really want. So i don't start a business that i'm not all into and it fails. I want to wait until i find something that i really love that i could throw myself into everyday with no hesitation. This interview showed me a lot of things to help me prepare for opening my own business and it was pretty fun at the end of the day. |

After the interview I conducted I learned that most people believe the owners have it the easiest because they are not out doing the physical labor. But in reality it’s a lot of stress to deal with. The owners do not get an assurance of money they will make every year like employees do. It takes a lot of risk and money also to begin a company which most people don’t take into consideration. You get to see the problems you deal with outside the restaurant like for example he had problems with the city and being threatened to be shut down. Many problems to deal with and a lot of people are not made to handle all that stress. It was an eye opener to see the whole run down, but also motivational. I one day want to open a coffee shop and since it's part of the restaurant business, I know I could always go to him for advice on finances or how to handle employees and other similar aspects of owning a restaurant. I think getting to know the more in-depth about running a business, made me think more. I shouldn't want to rush into opening a business, I should take my time and learn a bit before I jump into something I’ve never been a part of. I want to talk to many small coffee shop owners now and see what advice they have to offer. Overall it was a great experience doing the interview. |

The most meaningful part of this project is seeing how passionate an entrepreneur is with their business, its my dad and I know the business inside and out but he has the most heart I've seen in a man with his business and its a beautiful thing to be proud of what you built from the ground up. Learning about all the aspects of a family run business is really interesting in the way that everyday is a new opportunity to gains someone else's business and ultimately their trust new adventures are there every day. Learning that college is the greatest thing to do in life in the best thing to hear, he is putting me through college with his own business that he built from the ground up. This project has opened my eyes to what it takes to run a business with just family support and determination. |

This project was meaningful to me because I was able to get a lot of information on a business I am interested in knowing about. I was able to ask questions from my project but also questions I had myself. The owners were so sweet and explained as much as they could about how to start your own business. This experience has opened my eyes and made me see how much work owning your own business is but knowing that it is worth it at the end. I was able to get information on resources I can use for my business one day and since my business idea is similar to this business, I definitely will use all the information I was given. It was great to get to interview the owners of this bakery, especially since it is a family owned buisness, that has made me realize that families can work together and be successful. The relationship the owners have with their employees is very open and you can tell they care about them as well. Last but not least, I was able to get a lot of information on what not to do when starting a business. How small things can affect your business more than we think. Overall, this was a great experience that every student that is interested in owning their own business should experience. |

This project is meaningful to me because it helps me as an aspiring entrepreneur to learn about business not only through classroom but through another entrepreneur. It shows me not only that it can be very difficult or very easy. On the simple side it doesn’t take much to want to start your own business. All it takes is an idea that you put into action weather that be just because you want to start a business to leave an economical footprint or because you’re simply tired of being someone else’s employee. I found it very helpful talking to and getting to understand why others choose to become entrepreneurs. For example, I not only interviewed one person but two and they had two very complete attitudes on becoming entrepreneurs, the first person I interviewed didn’t really give me much to work with was very short on answers and didn’t really know what to say to most of my questions. However, the second person would go into so much detail without having to be asked. This shows me that some people just aren’t meant to be entrepreneurs. On the more difficult side keeping a business running is the difficult part. Learning how to build your customer base is the on goal I believe everyone should strive for before they strive for profit. Without those customers you’re just paying for a location and earning nothing. This whole experience has shown me that you can start with an idea but you have to make something of that idea. It shows me that although it’s not very difficult to start a business maintaining it might be. I personally wouldn’t start a business if I didn’t have a plan and that’s exactly what I learned from the first person I interviewed. Great ideas but without a plan those ideas are just thoughts. I feel very fortunate in being able to see two very different types of entrepreneurs. It showed me what it takes to be a true entrepreneur and yes that comes with the struggles of the bad days and the benefits of the good ones. Businesses take time and that’s the most important thing that I learned. It’s about taking risks they might not all work out but some will. |
