The most meaningful part of this project was being able to understand and to see another small business owner maintain her business through all the struggles of time and technology. I see the need for adapting and keeping up with the times, while staying passionate for my business.

What was most meaningful to me about this project was being able to get an insight on my role model's hardships to get to where this individual is now. Originally I was studying to be a neonatal nurse. The reason I say this is because it literally took one business meeting to make me want to switch my major. For years I have seen this CEO work so hard for their business and deep down I always wished that one day I could be where they are. To be honest, when I was studying to be a nurse studying the various types of cells and such I would find myself constantly asking myself if that was what I truly wanted to do and the answer would always be no even though I would lie to myself and say yes to make myself feel better in the sense that I didn't waste my own time studying something that I did not really want to do. After analyzing all the factors multiple times and having that business meeting for guidance purposes, I made up my mind regarding the switching of my major. Just like this CEO, I have always hated to get bossed around and working to create somebody else's dream a reality. I decided it was time to work on making my dreams a reality. All in all, this project really helped me feel even more inspired and motivated to keep going on this journey and one day own my own company.

.For women, who are just starting out, it should begin by networking with other women in business, and have clear and concrete goals. Though it may initially get a little intimidating for some women to break the societal norms, the right support and guidance help to be more decisive of your goals. More importantly, it is necessary that you should team up with right people and should never start alone as it would help you line up your money better. And most importantly, always be curious and use your passion to drive your greatest dreams as dreams seen with eyes open when are turned to reality bring you ultimate contentment.

This was a very inspirational story about a single mom of two little boys, who built her Woman Owned business from the ground up. Through community connections, hard work and integrity, she was able to slowly expand at her own pace, navigating growing pains along the way. This entrepreneur chose an industry she is passionate about, every meal she creates an artform and personal gift from her heart. She actually loves her business, and it shows. It is so important to pick a business in a field you enjoy and are willing to spend the majority of your time doing. If you are passionate about what you are doing, you are more likely to innovate and come up with new ideas to expand and reinvent your business, to keep up with customer demands and the changing world around us. Even without a formal education in your certain field, if it’s something you have a talent for, you can be successful (while a formal education can save you a lot of mistakes and heartache).
I was very surprised to find out that this business was completely debt free and ran on working capital alone. This is encouraging because I learned without a lot of capital to invest into starting a business, there are ways around it, sweat equity being one of the most important aspects of a startup. Good money management is essential for sustaining a successful business, and if you cannot do it yourself, are not good at it, or simply do not have the time, find a trusted person with experience to help you. Make sure your taxes are done correctly! Do not get yourself in over your head with debt you cannot pay back. I learned it is important to keep cash reserves on hand for when you need it, so you can finance your own endeavors. Lastly, in the very unfortunate event that the “world turns upside down” like it did when the pandemic shutdown happened, remember not to panic, and find ways to pivot and change your business model to fit the new needs of the market and don’t give up!

The most meaningful part about this project was interacting with a small business owner. I enjoyed talking to them about their business and their whole backstory. Throughout the interview as I was asking them the questions, their responses were helpful and they even gave great advice. The advice that stuck with me the most was “do your research”, when you are thinking about opening up your own business. I think this is what stood out to me the most because it's one of the first things you have to do to get started. Once you start you can decide the next steps of going through with your business. It’s important especially when there are so many things to do when it comes to opening up a business.
Another thing that was meaningful to me was while talking to them I also noticed how they truly care about their business by the way they talked about how they first started getting into it. They showed how motivated they were and even showed excitement talking about the past. Taking their advice and the answers they gave for each question is something I will use in the near future and found helpful. I have learned so much about this interview and it has been an eye opener for me. With hard work and dedication, accomplishing your goal can make an impact on your life.

This project helped me exercise my interpersonal skills. I had to go to relatives and friends to do an interview. I'm still a little afraid of interviewing entrepreneurs I don't know because I don't know if they're available, I'm afraid of disturbing people, and I'm afraid of my language skills. So in this interview, I interviewed my brother-in-law and he was willing to help me finish this assignment. I learned about his industry by interviewing him. I found knowledge from his experience that I thought I could use in the future. I think this interview is very meaningful. I know different industries and find common ground in business. I would like to interview some other entrepreneurs in the future, through these eight questions.
These eight questions can also provide some thought-provoking points for the industry I am doing.

The most meaningful part of this project was seeing how much one person can accomplish by themselves as she is a sole proprietorship. It really comes down to time management and being consistent in order to create a business of any kind but especially by one’s self. The interview also showed me that I should go after what I am passionate about because it is possible to create a profitable business from one’s own interests. Staying true to one’s vision helps you stay unique in a market full of competitors like women’s clothing. Most importantly though, in order to create your own business you need to be a reliable person because oftentimes there is not going to be anyone to help you out immediately.

Other key takeaways were the importance of education, as she says it would have been easier to run her business if she had taken business courses prior to starting up her business. Because she started with only a high school diploma she had to figure everything out through trial and error which can be frustrating and expensive. Social media can be an incredibly useful tool as she created a large following of a couple hundred thousand followers on her main account and has around 75 thousand followers on Instagram and Tiktok. This following gives her an edge on her competition because they know who she is already so they are more inclined to buy from her, they feel like they are buying an item that will make them more like her which is great marketing if you can create a loyal following.

I think this project allowed me to have a better understanding of what it’s like to run a business. I was able to gain personal intel for this mailing business. I knew that running a business wasn’t easy, however I never thought there would be so much that goes into it. There’s a lot of finances you have to take into account for. You have to make sure you find that fine line between satisfying your customers and making sure your company is profitable. Despite me not looking to go into the mailing business, it does help put things into perspective. If I was to someday open up my own business, I wouldn’t be surprised by all the responsibilities. This project has helped me to look at businesses in a different light and to actually appreciate them.

I also learned a lot of key factors and tips to running or starting up a successful business. Being able to hear the different advice during the extra credit opportunity was also very informative. However, a couple key points that every entrepreneur said were confidence and networking. I was also able to connect a lot of concepts that we learned in class, to real businesses. This project has also opened my eyes to see that people, in general, hold a lot of power to accomplish things if they put their minds to it. Being able to start a business isn’t easy, the fact that a lot of people do and succeed is impressive. It makes me feel more confident to be able to potentially open up my own business in the future, or to take over a business eventually.

The most meaningful thing about this project was that I got the opportunity to learn how a small business operates. I had no idea there were so many advantages and disadvantages of owning a small business. I learned a lot about what it takes to be an entrepreneur. It's fascinating to see how entrepreneurs begin from zero and work their way up.
I enjoyed interviewing this small family owned business because they are inspiring and provided me with useful information. When I spoke with this entrepreneur, she was so humbled and had a positive mindset. The best advice that she gave me was to always make sure that the business you want to purse in will make you happy. I'm looking into starting a business soon, so hopefully with the advice I was given, I could begin my journey.

After conducting this interview, I have learned that creating human relationships should be the number one thing that I should focus on in the entrepreneur world. I have learned that the process of creating loyal customers requires you as a business owner to build that trust. I also learned to avoid cutting corners and provide authentic work, because you want to do the job done right the first time. This will make me efficient and trustworthy. It all comes down to networking and reaching out to clients to help each other. And not only with customers, but my employees and staff as well. Treating everyone with respect so that we can all go home with a healthy pay check. Making sure the work environment is fun and engaging, so that it can feel less like a task, and more like a mission.

I was very fortune to have this interview, it has taught me a lot about my choices in life. One other thing that stood out to me, was the drive and passion to pursue what it is you want in life. Because without that drive, you won't bring your best service to the table. Ultimately, you want to be happy with what you are creating. When you have the passion and confidence in yourself, the people you hire and relationships you create are more authentic and real because you bring a likeable vibe. You can't just do it out of the desire to make money, there has to be soul behind the work. I believe that is what's going to separate me from a lot of my competitors.
