The most meaningful thing I learned was that going to college is a big part of any small business you open. My interviewee said countless times, “stay in school”. Going to college is going to teach you many subjects that depending on whatever your business is, you’ll use. A lot of people that do not go to school or drop out are successful but I have always heard them say that it was so much harder for them. I believe that because like my interviewee said, he would have saved a lot of time on certain subject if he would have gone to school and learned them in two years. School is the most important thing that I got out of this. I found it interesting that there are people in the world that are out to get into the pockets of anyone they can. It makes the business world seem like a place where you can’t trust anyone. That’s why a lot of family businesses are the most successful; it’s easier to trust family than strangers. I find it strange that people will sue anyone over any little thing just for some money. In there eyes it doesn’t matter if they hurt others around them or if they really have nothing to sue over, they will sue anyway. |

The most meaningful thing to me about this project is to see how hard you actually need to work to keep your company going strong and not fall. There is so much time and effort that needs to be put in before you can even get the company started. Once you do get it started you constantly need to make sure all of your operations are going smoothly. I come to respect the men and women who go through their life maintaing a business and keeping it strong. Going the extra mile just to see their company shine. There are so many people out there who think that they can go the easy way and say hey ill start my own business it will be easy, they are so wrong. All those people end up doing is crashing and failing. They dont put in that extra time and extra effort to see what the people are like around their location or even if anyone is interested in what they are starting at all. So many men and women spend their life trying to survive in the business world but cant because they dont have the knowledge or the determination to be able to press on. |

What was meaningful to me about this project was I got a lot of information out of it. By doing this project it reminded me of what I really want to do in life. I want to be a barber and own my own barber shop, so by doing this interview and interviewing a hair stylist/barber I took in a lot of information that was needed for me to be more focus and give me more motivation into pursuing my dream. I got some great advice that I believe will help me in the future when I start my own business. I was confused at first on what I wanted to do with my life but now I have it all figured out for right now. Now I will do my best to finish school and take a passion in learning about business so that I can be more successful in life. By doing this interview I got the chance to meet a small business owner who never thought they would own a business. Now this person that I interviewed has become my mentor. They are going to guide me threw and help me to start my own business. I will work for their business so I can gain experience and learn how to manage a business. I will also learn the fundamentals of running a business and how to deal with employees and clients. This project has been life changing. I can honestly say that I am looking forward into taking as many business courses I can to help me better myself in the business field. |

The most meaningful thing i learned from this project is mostly advice. Mrs. Linda taught me a lot about being true to myself. It was perhaps the most important thing I can take from this project. We all know what happens when money becomes an obsession. The Poorer are happier than the rich; the rich suffer to keep their glory, while the poor have fun and live life on bare necessity. All entrepreneurs start out poor, we must never forget that in one moment in time, we were all happy. Money isn't everything, but it is something. When I succeed, i must stay true to my original goals, to stay happy, to create jobs for people, and to have a steady cash flow so my family can live comfortably. I must stay true to my goals and myself, because somewhere down the line, I'll lose my integrity and become what i don't want to be. An old miser. Another meaningful lesson that i can take away from this project was the answer to question number four. Mrs.Linda told me three areas of study and told me how to implement them into my own experience. She said it could have saved her a lot of time, time that could be used to be with family, or having fun. I know want to take the classes she spoke about, especially the class about speech. The way she described its use stood out to me and shes right. In business the way you conduct business is how well you implement your ideas. If an entrepreneur has a weak voice, he or she could be stepped on countless of times by pressure from outside agents. An entrepreneur is the heart of his business, if he breaks, so does his dreams and ideas. An entrepreneur must be head strong, direct and clear. I want to become a C.E.O of a company and being capable of telling people that it all starts on how you state your questions and how you make them open paths to other opportunities. |

Branding and positioning are extremely powerful. Used correctly, you will magically attract your ideal clients to you. Used incorrectly, and that same power can destroy your business. |

What was most meaningful to me about this project is the amount of knowledge I gained about how to run and start a business. Even if a person starts a small business they can turn it into a huge one. I learned that if a person has more background knowledge about business before starting one, it would most likely be more successful. Also, after this project, I now see business as a competition and not just a job where you make money. The business field is filled with tons of competition. So, it is better to know who you are up against and always figure out how your opponents are handling their businesses. Another thing that is most meaningful to me about this project is how I learned about the insight of a business. Honestly, I never cared about how the family business runs, but now I know it is much more complex than just a job. I learned the many different ways on starting and running a business. The business field never interested me in any way. After learning more about it and the advantages it has, I started to think about what kind of business I would be interested in. So definitely, this project has opened my eyes to a new opportunity for my future. |

What was most meaningful to me about this project was the thing that you get to learn about a business owner. You get to learn what they value most and there opinion on certain things. Knowing the things that they value can help you put some meaningful priorites in order. This is important to me because you can learn the mistake and the things that these sucessful business owner had made and there giving you advice so that you dont make the same. You learn what things make an effect on certain business. In knowing that it can help you to look these things up in the business your going into also to see what effect it could have on your business. Another thing that was meaningful to me about this project is that these entrepreneur didnt have to take time out there busy schedules to do these intreviews. They could of simply said that they didnt have time or that they didnt want to do it. But they didnt they gave us time to question them about the business and personal thoughts. So that stood out to me a lot bacause to me it shows good character and thats something that you clearly need to run a successful business. |

The most meaningful thing about this project was getting to interview my boss. Because some times its hard to talk to him. But I had the chance to make him open up too me about his business. And seeing that things are harder then they look. I liked this project because I didn’t think that my boss was going to have the time to answer my questions. But he was more then happy to answer my questions for me. And because I got to see how it is to run a business that hopefully some day I will have and be as successful as his because he started his business at age 22 and has made it very successful I hope some day I will have someone interview me about my business. Knowing that he could do it gave me hope of some day having my own. |

This project gave me a wonderful insight into owning a small business. It taught me all sorts of different techniques and tactics that are necessary to a successful business. It gave me a look at the positives and negatives of owning a business. Many people think that is easy to start a business, but it in fact is very difficult and most businesses fail within the first few years. It takes trust, hard work, and confidence in order for one’s business to be a successful one. I as well discovered that sacrifice is very essential to earning money and getting work done in a small business. This project has also taught me things such as how to handle diversity. Dealing with change and issues that come out of nowhere are very hard to deal with and can be a huge downfall in a company. Another thing I learned is that keeping up with new technology is not as easy as one would assume. Constantly technology is changing and evolving, and to keep up with the competitors one would have to constantly change and evolve with it. |

I got closer to my boss/auntie. And I got to see from her eyes how to run the business, and it is really complicated and since you have to pay others, so it gets really stressful. When you say something anad promise someone a job you have to do everything that you can to get them that job. The hardest part would probably would be finding the exact employee that the employer wants. For example we are with a company that wants class a drivers with 10 years clean record, and that is a pain to find. And when one of the employers don't pay then you have to take them to court, and that is more time that you have to deal with. This was really a good way to get to know Christy and her business, she is very intellegent to choose a temp service, because everyone is looking for a job. And she is very serious about her job and doesn't let anyone mess with her money. This business is her baby and it is growing so much! In this she also does forklift raining, typing tests, and she creates resumes so that also brings in more money. |
