I feel that this project was a great help. There is a lot that [Name removed] said to me that made me realize things that i havent even thought off before i start my business. I now know that the world and technology is now different in toadys generation than in 1993. it will be much more competitve and hard to get my business public. Having a business is a big responsibility. I also liked how he was excited over talking about his business. The information that he also gave me after the interview was very interesting and also the bads about his job. It was a downfall in the end but i see that when it lasted he was happy. I never took into consideration the profits and the loss how he was explaining to me. It was a fun project though. |

Listening to Mr. [name removed] speaking about his business, i felt that he has passion and knowledge for what he does. I know that Business Management classes are important but hearing him say it, made my believe stronger. Establishing a good credit with the bank is necessary for an inspiring entrepreneur to get a loan.Managing well the finances and have enough money to be able to pay the suppliers and the employees even if the business is not making lot of money. I learned that to be successful, the entrepreneur needs to be trusted as a leader and understanding people and encouragig their creativity is what make a company do well. |

The most meaningful thing I learned through the interview for this project is the refreshing idea that whenever anyone starts a business it would take a lot of time and dedication. The initial phase of the business build up is always going to be hard because you have to build a good reputation for yourself in order to attract more customers and accumulate loyal customers. It also really an eye opener how monthly revenues are very fluctuating where there are always going to be good and hard times and budget is very important in determining the survival of a business as it pursue towards becoming successful. Being still young, there is still a lot for me to learn in order before I can even think about opening a business. I would very much prefer to work in a very successful profession first to accumulate as much money as I can as capital just so when I start a business, I won’t have to worry about bumping into financial roadblocks. Plus as long as I can keep a high credit score I will always be able to have insurance should things really go south and I would be required to borrow money from banks to ride out the hard times until the business picks up again. By learning from other people’s experiences and mistakes and I can at least have the advantage of avoid certain obstacles or overcome certain obstacles much better as long as I know what to look out for and keep them in front of me to tackle the problems head on. My interview with [name removed] was a lot of fun and I had a great time working on this project. Thank you! |

I realized how hard things could get without education and how much longer it takes to learn. I never realized how long it took my brother to get the knowledge that he has right now. I never understood why everyone would tell me go to school, try your best to learn the knowledge that they giving you in school. Now i realized how important is to educate yourself to get where you want to be and to accomplish all your goals you have set for your life time. Is amazing how hard our ansestors have worked without education to earn knowledge which alot of them didnt get that far and they live day by day. This project made me open my eyes and try hard everyday to educate my self to give my family and myself knowledge. I would like to advise everyone to stay in school and educate them selves to succeed in life. My brother inspired me with this project because i nevered understood why he always wanted everything inspected and well done. Now i finally understand why is so important to have your customers trust. Importance of doing a good job and to maintain a good integrity for a business. |

Considering myself a entrepreneur the overall assignment was meaningful. The questions asked and answered are significant to me because I'm in the same business as the entrepreneur I interviewed. I looked up to this man as one of the greats in his field and for him to share his past and present accomplishments and failures was special. This man has been in the business unofficially and officially since he was 12 years old I believe hes about 38 now thats dedication. This is important to me because i respect this man. I honor his hustle and admire the struggle which he came from. His advice is priceless because he has walked down the path im setting forth my journey on. Also in his own right he is highly successful in the endeavors he has been apart of. He has a great influence on my plans those words on wisdom and encouragement are more beneficial then a lot of things I hear and see in my life. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to interview (name removed). Also the NAICSS number for his business is 711310 Promoters of Performing Arts, Sports, and Similar Events with Facilities |

The most meaningful experiences from this interview was finally receiving a great in-depth look in a family own business and getting to personally know the manager of the pizza parlor who has been working on my street for years. Family businesses are a simple and at the same time, a complicated commitment to manage. This particular pizza parlor has been in business since the year of 1966. It is in the process of being fully passed down from the father to the son to fully manage. This aged building is in need of difficult maintenance from time-to-time, although the manager is thorough to repair or clean this building to maintain its reputation as a respectable and valued business of our community. Finding reliable people to hire is also a difficult task, due to the negligence of many employees. However, the manager currently has a reliable staff on hand, securing the parlor’s recognition for great services. I have had the opportunity to finally have a personal conversation with the manager of the parlor. He is a very respectable man with high values for honesty, innocence and artistic creativity. He is never too quick to judge others and takes pleasure of helping others. He enjoys having intelligent conversations and sharing thoughts on topics in hand. He allows others to be themselves comfortably; expressing the importance of individuality, and how not truly expressing one’s self is not healthy and can make the person bland. I continue enjoying have casual conversations with him when I enter the parlor for lunch or a snack. |

This project is a great way for me to find out about other successful business chain. This was the opportunity for me to explore into a restaurant chain. I am very passionate and have always wanted to run a restaurant business but don’t know exactly what kind. Getting into a small restaurant chain might be the right way for me to start since they provide financing and training and a higher rate of success. In the near future I hope I am able to operate one since my kids are now bigger. This class offers me a chance to interview one unique owner of a local restaurant chain. The owner was willing to open up and share whatever he knows about his business. He and his beautiful wife were very gracious and down to earth. He even took a liberty of showing me the back kitchen which I never thought he would. While I was there, two of his friendly manager trainees shook my hand. He shared books on leadership and suggested that I read the two books that he lent me- that was more that I called for! He revealed that some days he would have bad days from disagreement with staff members and dissatisfying customers, and that every day is as challenging as any other day. When customer is unhappy, he makes every attempt to make every customer a happy and satisfied customer. When he encounters indifferences in his business, he calls for attention, makes implement and makes it clear that the same thing will not happen. At the end of the day, he is the same person as usual with grace and poise, and that is how he carries himself- proud and full of confidence. I enjoyed the interview immensely. The interviewee made my job a lot easier and meaningful. I greatly appreciate his time and sincerity. I have learned from him and will put it into practice. I am happy to say that I picked the right place for my interview. |

Doing this project I learned what it takes to start a small business, how much time it takes to put into a business and how to make the business successful. I enjoy learning about how people use their own personal experience, and working with other companies to start a new job. Learning on what a person loves doing, reading and thinking would be a great start to create a new job and doing something that you love doing. If I were to open a business I would need to have a lot of time, patents and knowledge about the business background before I start. Doing these things will help me get ahead and knowledge of what the economy is like and how I could doing things to make my company successful. Reading what it takes in this economy to start a business is exciting and scary. The economy is currently not doing good, but if people were to start buying more products and spending more money the economy will go up. This roller coaster ride is on how many jobs are out there and how much things cost. Starting a business in this economy will have a lot of work to be done which will cost a lot of money, so the best advice I was given was take it slow and start off with people you know then try to make the business grow from there. Having done this project and talk to people that are starting up a business on their own and having it still running made me think about starting one. The only thing is with doing a business on your own is that it's a lot of out of pocket and time on your part then once it's going that is when the money comes in. I am grateful I got to meet some people that have done this and are successful and make a living off of it, but I still wonder if all small business are like that or is there more out there that didn’t make it. Finally having a lot of background, money and time are all need needed to start a foundation which can lead to a successful business, that can grow and support your family. |
