What was the most meaningful to me about this project was that I had the opportunity to interview this particular business owner. I met this woman last spring while attending a police dispatch training academy. She sat next to me in class and we got to talking about work and career. When she told me she had her own online business and worked from home, I was so envious! She told me she got to home-school her kids and raise them living in the mountains. Since meeting her, I was wishing I had a career like that. Little did I know the downside to this career! This interview allowed me to ask her questions I would not normally ask in a social setting. I had no idea that she was a slave to her computer and that the work was exhausting. I have a whole new respect for people who have online businesses and are run from their home. I stereotyped these people thinking their job was easy and they had it made. This interview process allowed me to see that they have to work just as hard, if not harder, than someone who has a typical 9-5 job.

The two most meaningful advice I got out from this project was first to take business classes. Taking business classes before starting up your own business will help me in how to run a success business. A business class can also help in how to manage material costs depending on what type of business. Also taking classes in state and federal guidelines will help better understand in how a business should be run. I believing staying in school and gaining more knowledge in the business world, especially taking computer courses will help you in some way with your business.
The second advice that was most meaningful to me was making sure that you have an adequate amount of money just in case anything were to happen. Being your own boss means you now have to take responsibility in your business. Making sure you at least have a years worth of savings will help prepare you for anything that can happen with your business. After doing this project, I have learned you have to be very careful and organized and be dedicated in your business in order to be successful. Without having an organized plan, your business can fail and no lender will lend you money in order to help out with your business.

The most significant thing for me was the approach to the entrepreneur. In my particular case, the fact of not having any contact with employers and that my first language is not English, the preparation of this project constituted a real challenge. The search of an entrepreneur who consents to be interviewed was hard and frustrating, finally and after hard work, I got an appointment in order to prepare for the subsequent interview. The appointment was never made on the date agreed by the multiple occupations of the entrepreneur. After several suspensions, finally took place. The meeting helped to clarify a lot of doubts and allowed to achieve a rapprochement with the entrepreneur.
I chose an entrepreneur who works in the area of health. His company is a medical clinic that has grown since it began operations a decade. This is a medical clinic that provides services to all patients; its market segment is very broad. I could see that the medical clinic also has social service activities. This activity is carried out in different locations. Good management, services to all patients, and social work done, make this entrepreneur is successful.

I enjoyed the project. When it was assigned to us, I was horrified thinking that no one would want to answer the questions. Once I found someone, I learned so much from this person. The most meaningful thing about the project for me was what I learned. To hear how someone else got started and understanding that it’s not always easy. Bring to perspective the ups and downs you can have owning a business and the choices you have to make especially when you love what you do. Before taking this business class and doing this project, I heard other people making the assumption that starting a business is easy. I don’t feel that way at all, especially after doing the interview.

In business there are a lot of things you have to do before you even get started and being prepared is so essential to your success. I never thought about all the aspects you have to know about or look at when you own a business. I understand now that being an entrepreneur is not for everyone. It has not deterred me from wanting to start a business; it has just made me more aware of the things I need to do to start and to continue a successful business. After talking to someone who is an entrepreneur, I know I will have times when I fall, but I have to get back up and keep trying. If it doesn’t work out in the business world for me to be an entrepreneur, at least I gain valuable knowledge.

This was an eye opener because it allowed me to know what skills i would be needing that were not on the surface to running a business. I realized that no matter how well i plan my business i would still need start up capitol. I knew about banks and loans but a college student without credit made it difficult. I learned about collateral for start up capitol.
Another very important point i kept on noticing was customer relations. i learned that not matter what industry on must keep with with trends and work towards satisfying those trends. products must be relevant at all times and always expand the business.

The most meaningful part of the project to me was being able to talk and learn the insight from a successful entrepreneur. But it was very meaningful since my mom has been working for this man for 25 years. It also helped show me how tough it is to run a business. I learned the background stuff is very important since without it the front end of the business cant run correctly. This project grew my desire to own my own business and got me excited of all the possibilities down the road for me.

This project was very helpful because I learned that even when you come from nothing you can start a business. It is easy to be successful, it just takes hard work. I never saw myself as an entrepreneur, but after learning how simple it is to accomplish having a successful business, it would be amazing. I think from not only my project, but others as well, it is easy to see that you need motivation and hard work to get you where you want to be. For the most part you have to depend on yourself and if you aren't at the top of your game then starting a business probably isn't the thing for you. From this project, I learned that anyone could do this.

This project was meaningful for me because it gave me a better insight into how an online based business worked. I realize that even a service based website without any products to sell can still generate a lot of money. I also learned that networking is huge, whether it’s for customers or potential investors. A good portion of the challenging parts in starting his business was alleviated by his own personal network. I realize that having good people around you can greatly increase one’s chance into having better opportunities. It also helps to get inside someone’s head for advice because they have already been through a part of what I am about to go through business wise. It is certain that there are going to be obstacles in starting a business, but if planned well, the level of difficulty will be reduced greatly.
I also like the idea of being a student for life. This CEO doesn't have to go back to school to learn how to make a websites, but he knows the demand for online goods are huge and only growing bigger. Celebrating mistakes will be new for me, but I know now, that not making the same mistake twice will help me be a better person, and keep a business afloat by adapting to failed circumstances.
In a sense, this project helped me start my own business that “failed.” Now it’s time to start another business, integrating what I learned from this assignment.

The most meaningful about this project had to be being able to interact with a business owner. The form of the interview is just something very different from everyday life. The interview was very professional, the owner introduced himself with great eye contact. This interview helped me open my mind and eyes to a very professional and educated world. This interview proved to me that I need to improve my social and speaking skills. The business owner had such a professional way of speaking that it made me want to study into that, speaking.
This interview was also very motivating to me. It made me really want to start a business in which I dream of everyday. The dream of one day have a well established truck driving company. My father owns one but I would like to greatly expand it. Mr. Trincale did a great job of motivating me to improve the business. Maybe not as much my professor Dr. Jagodka does but he sure did motivate me and give ideas on how to start.

One of the most important things about this project was to have the chance to talk to a business owner. By interviewing him, I understood what are most important challenges that he is facing right now toward his business. This person had taught me that I need to take a look at my life and make a change in my life and he also advices me to put all my fears away. Putting my fears away will definitely make me a stronger person.
The most meaningful part of this project is the experience of knowledge that I was able to get from the owner. There are many reasons why it is good to have your own business, controlling your own destiny, finding work and life balance and choosing the right people to work with. There is going to be a risk but at the end the good things will appear by putting a lot of effort and dedication to your plans. i think all people have to set up a challenge and get out of the daily routine. All this information that he had share to me has helped me a lot and it also motivates me to keep working hard and acquire the proper knowledge to operate and start up the business i have been dreaming with. I would love to feel proud of building something that belongs to me, and why not, be my own Boss.
