The most meaningful part about this project was having the chance to interview my aunt. Ever since I was a child, my aunt has been like a second mother to me and is definitely one of the role models that I look up to as she is one of the most hardworking people that I know. As a young teenager, my very first job was working at the bakery and through the years, I grew up working at the bakery so it was very nice to learn more about its foundations. It's also nice to see how the small business has grown and developed through the years. Interviewing my aunt also helped me gain a better understanding and insight as to how she has kept the bakery afloat through the years. She has always been very hardworking and I'm very happy for her success. In the future, when I own a business, I will apply the lessons I have learned from my aunt and in our business class. |

The most meaningful thing about this project is that it gave me a big insight on what it’s like to have your own business. There are many qualifications and traits you need to have to have a successful business. Javier was punctual and was ready to answer questions. He came prepared and brought water, pen, and paper. To run a business it means you have to be the best version of yourself. You have to always be prepared, punctual and have a good personality. You have to be a good person and want to succeed. Having your own business requires so much more than I imagined. No matter how you feel if you are the boss you have to get up and go to work. You have to set an example to your employees. How hard you work, is seen by your employees. You as a owner have to work the hardest, but it’s ok because it will pay off in the long run. I also was very inspired. You can have a business if you really want to. Javier was very very poor growing up. No one expected much of him. Yet he is thriving on his small business and has a deep passion for it. This gives me motivation and inspiration. If you want a business you cannot be afraid and wait for the opportunity to come. You have to charge to it and fight it until it becomes docile and easy to control. I have learned the value of will and strength. I am very excited to start on my business. I know now that if you pack yourself with, knowledge , ambition and drive you can make it very far. “Sometimes a small seed makes a big tree” -Javier |

As an interviewer each answer the entrepreneur gave was meaningful and I learned that in each answer was based from his experiences. The bad experiences showed him how to become a better business owner. It is important for me as a student to be able to get all this knowledge and learn all the strategies he used to able to stand where he is now. His answers were so precise and clear that there is not much I can add. |

9. One thing that was meaningful to me was the experience. Now I have some type of knowledge on how to interview a person. I also learned a lot about the business. Things like if the economy is not doing well you might not get much business. So that means it can be a risky business to get into. Another thing would be if you are looking to become a business owner you should do your research first. Look into the business carefully before you make any big decisions. If you don’t do your homework on it there is a huge possibility that the business can fail. 10. The second thing that was meaningful to me was the knowledge about becoming a general contractor. All the different types of ordinance you have to know about. Because every city has different requirements to build on. I also learned about the financing help that you can receive for this type of business. It is pretty difficult to get bank loans. Your best bet would be to try to get a private investor. So with that being said receiving all this knowledge about this business it could help me out tremendous if I would to decide to get into a business like this one. |

The most meaningful part of this project was being able to learn first hand from a person I trust, that has the best intentions to help me succeed. Being able to gain insight on the pros and cons of being an entrepreneur will be very helpful in my pursuit of entrepreneurship. Having a reliable resource to turn to is an invaluable asset in the game of business. The best part of doing this project is that I believe I have gained a mentor in the business with whom I trust. I believe that my best intentions are in mind when dealing with this person and he will help me and guide me in the right direction to be a successful entrepreneur. |

During this interview there many things that were meaningful to me like gaining information about what it takes to succeed in this particular field. This is meaningful to me because someday I plan on owning my own business and I gained valuable information from this project and interview on how to do it wile also maintaining it. Another meaningful peace of information was how the person felt about working in this type of business. If I plan on owning my own business which I do I want to know what its like and what takes to run a successful business, and I gained a good idea of how that is. |

The most meaningful part of this project is to understand what is important in business. To get into business making money is the last goal anyone can have. Creating a business that operates and can stay in business is the most important part of building a business. Treating people the right way is an important part of anyones life and is more important in business. Its a small world and you need others to build anything. Treat people with respect, dignity, and be humble and with hard work anyone can be successful. |

While it is fun to have a conversation with a restaurant owner about their family restaurants, the owners emphasize that they are lucky enough to be successful at their line of work. It is not an easy business to sustain for an outsider trying to get in, because it is one of the most competitive business types out there. That is good to know, because I would rule out starting a restaurant from scratch if one knows nothing about running a restaurant. If I were to start a start-up, I would rather pick something that has a barrier to entry, or something specifically useful for a business entity that is already a blue chip company and is already well established. I don’t think I enjoy food to turn it into a business. I do think that restaurant owners ought to also right recipe books, but then it would directly give away their special secret recipes. |

The most meaningful to me after having an interview with the entrepreneur is how to start a business. Preparing financing sources, choosing a potential location, learning management skills are extremely important beginning steps for an entrepreneur. Especially, how to deal with customers in some special circumstances, how to keep relationships with them are also vital strategies of the entrepreneur. However, the location seems to be the most important factor for a small business because it can make the business succeed or fail. The entrepreneur should focus on demographic, competitors in order to attract more customers. In order to be successful, the entrepreneur should focus on significant elements that create a successful business. Being honest with customers always help the business be more prosperous. The more satisfaction customers have, the better profitable the business is. Creating relationship with clients helps the entrepreneur has more referrals for their business. Moreover, after having the interview I recognized one more valuable lesson is that starting a new business is never easy for people who lack of knowledge, patience, observation and dedication. The entrepreneur should have passion on their business from the beginning. Therefore, having knowledge about the field is really necessary for a new entrepreneur. They need to update new information, knowledge frequently in their field such as taking some training courses at the main company (franchisor), reading Internet or doing some surveys from customers and clients. The entrepreneur should find some mentors in order to help them about knowledge and experience. In addition, the entrepreneur should build up their credits in order to add more financial sources to their company in emergency cases. Therefore, the interview of an entrepreneur really inspires me to own a business although I have never had this idea before. |

I thought this interview was very meaningful because of the quality time that we got together. we are very close friends and we had discussed about business before but we never really talked about his small business and what his thoughts were on things like his goals and his ideas on the current environment for his business. one thing i found very interesting was the interviewee said that " i use to be in Jagodkas class before too and i had to do the same exact interview but i never would of thought that i would be in this position today but it was all thanks to ralph that im able to be where i am today doing the things i love" |
