One of my jobs as an EMS (Emergency Medical Services) volunteer was to patrol the neighborhood. The first thing I have to do is to place emergency warning lights on top of my vehicle. Sinc ethis is not an "official" position with the fire or police department, I will have to find my own source of vehicle lights. I looed at Ebay and found a manufacturer in Taiwan that produce quality lights at an affordable price. The problem is that the manufactuer would not sell to individual buyers like me. These manufactuerers are contracted to sell their products to the gray market. In a gray market, the manufacturers produce products to be sold in the third-world market. Consequently, prices are considerably lower. I immediately saw a business opportunity. Why couldn't I capture a part of this market and import some of these products to the United States? I started contracting with the manufacturers. Soon, I was making thousands of dollars each week from the sales of these emergency warning lighting systems. |
