ConsultaPedia (Ralph Jagodka, Sole Proprietorship) recognizes that your privacy is very important and we take it seriously. This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use, disclosure, and sharing of your personal information or personal data when you use ConsultaPedia. This Privacy Policy applies to activities by ConsultaPedia.
How We Collect Your Information
We collect information directly from individuals, from third parties, or through ConsultaPedia.
Communications.
When you communicate with us (via email, phone, through ConsultaPedia, or otherwise), we may maintain a record of your communication.
Automatically Collected Information About Your Activity. When you use ConsultaPedia, our web server and application automatically record technical and security information, such as requested pages, referring URLs, date and time of access, browser type, device type, browser language, IP address, and failed or successful login activity. We use this information to operate and secure ConsultaPedia, troubleshoot issues, prevent misuse, and understand aggregate use of our services. We do not use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, advertising pixels, or similar third-party analytics or cross-context behavioral advertising technologies on ConsultaPedia. Google Translate Widget.
We use the Google Translate website widget to enable translation of our content into multiple languages. When you use the translation feature, Google sets a functional session cookie (googtrans) to remember your language preference. The widget also sends page content to Google's servers for translation. Google's use of this data is governed by their privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. The googtrans cookie is a functional, first-party session cookie that expires when you close your browser.
Categories of Personal Information We Collect
Under California law, we must disclose the categories of personal information we have collected in the last 12 months:
- Identifiers: Name, email address, IP address, device identifiers, unique device identifier
- Commercial Information: Records of services used, account preferences, job alert subscriptions
- Internet Activity: Browsing behavior, search history, page views, interaction with our website, failed and successful login activity
- Geolocation Data: General location based on IP address
- Professional Information: Job-related information and preferences if you use our career services
- Inferences: Profiles about your preferences and characteristics based on your activity and usage patterns
Sources of Personal Information: We collect this information directly from you (when you communicate with us or create accounts), automatically through your use of our website (via cookies and tracking technologies), and from third-party analytics and service providers.
Business Purposes for Collection: We collect this information to provide our services, improve our website, comply with legal obligations, prevent misuse, and conduct analytics as described in the "How We Use Your Information" section below.
How We Use Your Information
ConsultaPedia collects personal information only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve our services. We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, advertising pixels, or similar third-party behavioral-tracking services on ConsultaPedia. ConsultaPedia uses the information we collect for the following purposes:
Provide our Services. To provide you the services we offer on ConsultaPedia, communicate with you about your use of ConsultaPedia, respond to your inquiries, provide troubleshooting, and for other customer service purposes.
Analytics. To gather metrics to provide to your sponsor organizations and to evaluate and improve ConsultaPedia, and to develop new products and services.
Comply with Law. To comply with legal obligations, as part of our general business operations, and for other business administration purposes.
Prevent Misuse. Where we believe necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person or violations of this Privacy Policy.
Your Rights and Choices
For All Users
- Access: You can request details about the personal information we have about you
- Correction: You can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your personal information
- Opt-out: You can opt out of certain data collection and sharing
For European Union, UK, and Brazil Residents (GDPR/LGPD)
Under data protection laws, you have additional rights including:

How We Share Your Information
We share information as set forth below, and where individuals have otherwise consented:
Service Providers. We may share your information with third party service providers who use this information to perform services for us, such as payment processors, hosting providers, auditors, advisors, consultants, customer service and support providers.
Affiliates. The information collected about you may be accessed by or shared with subsidiaries and affiliates of ConsultaPedia, whose use and disclosure of your personal information is subject to this Privacy Policy.
Legally Required. We may disclose your information if we are required to do so by law.
Protection of Rights. We may disclose information where we believe it necessary to respond to claims asserted against us or, comply with legal process (e.g., subpoenas or warrants), enforce or administer our agreements and terms, for fraud prevention, risk assessment, investigation, and protect the rights, property or safety of ConsultaPedia, its users, or others.
Anonymized and Aggregated Data. We may share aggregated or de-identified information with third parties for research, marketing, analytics and other purposes, provided such information does not identify a particular individual.
Other Students (Opt-In Only). If you opt in to Enhanced Peer Networking, your first name, last initial, and career-interest information are visible to other opted-in students in shared interest areas. If you use the Message Peer email template feature, a matched peer's email address is displayed to you so you can contact them directly from your own email account; ConsultaPedia does not send, relay, or store these messages. You control participation in this feature and can disable it at any time. See "Student Peer Networking" below for details.
Student Peer Networking (Optional Feature)
ConsultaPedia offers an optional Enhanced Peer Networking feature that allows students to connect with one another around shared career interests. This feature is opt-in only and is not active unless you choose to participate.
If you opt in, the following information you provide is visible to other opted-in students who share similar career interest areas:
- Your first name and last-initial only (e.g., "Sarah M.")
- Your stated career interests, dream job title, discussion topics, and career goals
- Your networking profile status (active or inactive)
Your full last name is never displayed to other students, and your email address is not shown in peer browsing lists or profile views. If you choose to use the "Message Peer" email template feature, ConsultaPedia will display the matched peer's email address so that your own email application can open a pre-filled message to them. ConsultaPedia does not send, relay, mask, or store any email sent through this feature; the message is sent directly from your own email account to theirs, the same as any other email you send. If you never use the Message Peer feature, no email address is exchanged.
Information you submit for this feature is stored in our database and is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising. It is used solely to operate the peer-matching and peer-messaging features described above.
You may view, edit, or delete your networking profile, or turn off your share status, at any time from your account.
Cookies and Tracking
ConsultaPedia uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies that are necessary for core website functions, such as maintaining login sessions, protecting accounts, and remembering the Google Translate language selection. We do not use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, advertising cookies, advertising pixels, or other third-party technologies to track users across websites or online services for behavioral advertising.
Cookies. These are small files with a unique identifier that are transferred to your browser through our website and our third-party providers' websites. They allow us and our providers to remember users who are logged in, to understand how users navigate through and use our website, and to display personalized content and store application settings and preferences of the logged-in user.
Types of Cookies We Use:
- Strictly Necessary Cookies: Required for basic website functionality, login sessions, and security
- Functional Cookies: The Google Translate widget sets a session cookie (googtrans) to remember your selected language preference
Note: We have removed analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) from our website. We no longer use tracking or analytics services.
Do-Not-Track Signals. Please note we do not change system behavior within ConsultaPedia in response to browser requests not to be tracked. ConsultaPedia does not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers that would be affected by Do-Not-Track signals. See our Cookie Policy for details on the cookies we do use.
Treatment of Email Addresses for Email Job Alerts
If you sign up for email job alerts, we will send you job alerts via email. You can unsubscribe at any time. We will share your email address and job-related preferences with the vendor that we use to send you email job alerts.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law:
- Account Information: Retained while your account is active and for 3 years after closure
- Translation Preferences: Google Translate language preference cookies (googtrans) expire at the end of each browser session
- Communication Records: Retained for 7 years for business and legal purposes
- Cookie Data: Varies by cookie type, typically 1-24 months as detailed in our Cookie Policy
- Email Job Alerts: Retained until you unsubscribe or for 2 years of inactivity
- Legal and Compliance Records: Retained for 7 years or as required by applicable law
You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at ralph@consultapedia.com. We will honor valid deletion requests within 45 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
How We Protect Your Information
The security of your information is important to us. ConsultaPedia has implemented safeguards to protect any information we collect. However, no website or Internet transmission is completely secure. We urge you to take steps to keep your personal information safe, such as choosing a strong password and keeping it private, as well as logging out of your user account, and closing your web browser when finished using our third party websites on a shared or unsecured device.
Access and Amend Your Information
You may update or correct your account information at any time by logging in to your account. You may also make a number of other adjustments to settings or the display of information.
Transferring Your Data
ConsultaPedia is headquartered in the United States, and has operations, entities and service providers in the United States and throughout the world. As such, we and our service providers may transfer your personal information to, or access it in, jurisdictions (including the United States) that may not provide equivalent levels of data protection as your home jurisdiction. We will take steps to ensure that your personal information receives an adequate level of protection in the jurisdictions in which we process it.
Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 (or under the age of 14 for anyone living in Spain or South Korea) or knowingly allow such persons to register. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the relevant age without parental consent, we take steps to delete that information.

ConsultaPedia may contain links to third party sites or online services. We are not responsible for the practices of such third parties, whose information practices are subject to their own policies and procedures, not to this Privacy Policy.
