The most meaningful thing I learn is attention to detail. Having a business plan and knowing every piece you put in a plan can only benefit you when it comes time for you to present to a bank. Adam also stated that following his business plan has allowed him to succeed. He has two franchises and is about to open another franchise in Bakersfield. Adam kept repeating having a positive attitude during his interview, and his attitude became contagious when I was interviewing him. His energy made me feel like it was possible to accomplish my goals. I saw his attitude and will to take on the challenges and solve the daily issues plaguing a business. Learning to adapt in business is essential to a business. That's how a company can survive tough times like the pandemic. |

The opportunity to speak with a business owner who experienced failure so early in the life of their company but is now thriving was the aspect of this project that meant the most to me. I feel confident employing the great suggestions and guidance she gave me for my business. Because there will be times when you need to invest in your business, it helped me realize the dangers you could have to take when starting off and how much money you need to save personally for your business. This assignment was great since it gave me a chance to understand how an entrepreneur thinks. It also underlined the need of ensuring that you would have enough clients to sustain your business and then concentrating on them so that they will stick with you and recommend you to future clients. Additionally, I discovered that technology may be quite useful for connecting with consumers and assisting with time management. I was also reminded of the value of excellent communication with my staff and with outsiders, as well as the necessity to be aware of my surroundings, including the government, and the resources I will need to defend my company. Every employee and coworker is touched by what I do as a manager in any sector, and leadership still plays a crucial role in business. The most difficult labor yields the greatest benefits. |

From this interview I’ve learned that it takes dedication time patients a will to learn and a passion that makes your business boom and be wealth in the future. You build character from having to pick yourself up from not knowing when there will be a bad day and how you will revive it. Success comes from hard work and efficiency.” If you don’t work you don’t eat”, meaning if you don’t put in the work that’s needed you will not be able to feed your family so don’t give up. I will look for new ways for my business to be better. Find a trusting partner that with help me. And hire an advertisement marketing team or take a few courses so that I’m on top of the lates ads and social media postings. Offer incentives to customers so that they come back for more and refer their friends. I will Make sure that I always show up and show out on every job I have. I believe dedication comes from having a passion that you want to pursue and actually accomplish. When you dedicate your time to a task it is bound to be met with success. So, I with dedication you should never want to give up but keep proceeding until you get exactly where you want to be. Having patients also ties into being dedicated because you have to have patience and believe that what you have dedicated your time to is truly worth it and is actually going to help you to become whatever you are working to become. Always be open minded to learn new things in your field that can help you to thrive and be more understanding of thing not quite understood. Look for funding sources and always give back you find lots of customers when you help out the community. |

Learning was an understatement of this project in my humble opinion. I felt like the world of business just keeps on expanding and growing inside of my mind. I honestly think the interview gave me vital information on how an entrepreneur tries to singlehandedly start up his own company by using only his own personal savings to fund his e-commerce store. Ever since I was a child, I wanted to make my mark in this world by achieving great success to make my family proud of bringing me to the states since I am a first-generation citizen in my family history. Both my parents worked tirelessly to achieve to get their own house and cars without any college degree at all. I wanted to take an opportunity to make them proud by getting a degree and starting my own business like my interviewee. I can personally relate to him about growing up not having enough privileges due to the color of my skin but never let that stop me from achieving my dreams. This interview also prepared me to learn how to have a formal coffee and to learn how to dress up and act professionally for a future connection. Since I also have a huge fascination with streetwear, I asked him if he needs any clothing designers, I can help him due to having years of graphic design and photoshop under my belt. While interviewing him, I was also personally networking with him and building up a connection for potential business opportunities for myself. The goal of life for me is to have multiple constant revenues of earnings so I can retire early and really live out the life I truly want. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed interviewing him as he was an interesting character to talk to over a cup of coffee. When he first saw me, he asked why I was overdressed. I responded by saying, “I want to be known as a professional all around by the way I communicate to the laces of my shoes.” I really enjoyed this experience and I know I will experience more interviews in the future. |

The entrepreneur that I interviewed for this project is someone that I look up to and she has known me ever since she first taught me to ride a horse at age 12. It is meaningful that our relationship is growing over the years and that she is still by my side coming along to recent horse shows, promoting my horse-related art, and taking an interest in what I'm doing in college and what I want to do after. After this interview, I know that I will have her advice and support for whatever kind of small business adventure I choose to set off on. I am very inspired by her business, which I actually never asked her about before this interview, and it is encouraging how honestly and simply she was able to explain everything. It made the whole idea of starting a small business seem less overwhelming and even though it is a lot of hard work you can't be afraid of it. Especially her advice for getting experience "Jump on any opportunity that you can!" |

Commercial feasibility study is important. After this interview, I found to start one’s own small business is never easy. Although I might have one or two contracts to start with, but that is never enough. There comes along with employee relationship management, product or service quality control, customer relationship maintenance, brand building and marketing etc. Any mistakes at the beginning will affect the initial business, further affecting the growth and confidence of the initial founders. Therefore, the commercial feasibility study is important for small business to consider all challenges and to prepare back-up plans for any potential risks. But that does not mean that one has to have everything ready or a perfect plan b for all issues before you start a business. The feasibility study will help to identify the key issues that one may easily overlook because of his/her entrepreneurial passion. I am also influenced by an idea of do not mixing one’s interests and ideals with real business that he/she might have to live on it. It will be lucky that one finds his/her interests combined with taking it as a career that he/she can live on it. This is really rare. Even those singers or NBA players, their success are not hobby-driven only. There are also functions similar to a firm such as the marketing strategy, broker’s operation etc. Therefore, a good advice for entrepreneurs or young people who are about to start their own small business is to relatively reduce their expectations of the correlation between business and hobby. One could have managed a successful business first to support him/her enjoying his/her hobby, or otherwise you will have to seek for sponsorship. |

I appreciate the way this project pushes me to network outside of my range of experience. I get to branch out and learn new perspectives from people studying and doing the same thing as me. It is important to constantly apply lessons from a project like these because the next person we network with may not something that the previous person did not know. This project can be used to build a toolbox of useful knowledge that we can apply to our own ventures. During my time working on this project, I was able to pick up what goes on in another entrepreneur's head. I also am aware that whatever worked for one person may not work for the other, it just helps to have awareness of different areas in my field. The key thing that my interviewee told me is that there is no such thing as the right timing for when to start or release something in your business. Starting will always be the hardest part, so it is important to condition yourself into getting rejected and failing as much as possible while you are in the early stages of your business journey. |

What I found most meaningful about this project was the opportunity to sit down with an entrepreneur and receive more insight about what it's like to run a business and especially one in a field that I love which is cooking. The interview had a lot of meaning to me because Chef Lala is also my guidance at work and it was very interesting to learn more about her and get a deeper understanding of what it takes to be successful in your business and to build a company off something that you love. During the interview, I was really able to put myself in her shoes and imagine myself in the scenarios she has been in. Hearing Chef speak about the importance of following what you love while maintaining a professional environment. What stood out to me the most was when she said that passion will not let you fall which I agree with strongly. There are many moments where I find myself stressing about my own business I am working on and if I am doing a good job, but I know that I will never allow myself to fall down because my passion is stronger than the doubt in my mind. After doing this interview, It made me begin to think more about what I want to see for my own businesses in the long run. Like Chef Lala, cooking is also a strong passion of mine and something that I really love to do. Her advice and knowledge of the culinary field is something I value deeply and look at her as inspiration for my own personal goals. I see myself starting my own catering company soon in the future and I will always make sure the keep the same passion for everyday I am working. This interview is something that I will always come back to when I am having hard times as a reminder of why I am working so hard to achieve these goals in the first place. Having my own business is more than money to me. It is an opportunity for me to really show what I am good at and put my passion out to the community. |

The best thing I learned from this interview would be the resources the owner used. Knowing that there is so many tools to help you grow and flourish in a start up business amazes me. I never knew about Alux at all until now. After doing my research I gathered an analysis that it is a professional site where where billionaire CEOs give you advice on how to run your business properly or even simply how to invest into certain companies or stocks. Another thing I can say was very informational is Duns & Bradstreet. They help you build your business credit faster than usual you just need to report every purchase you make with for business to them if you have an LLC. Overall this was a successful project to me and it helped me grow to understand business more vividly. It takes time and patience to get to where you want to be and also you cant be scared to take risks. Taking a risk can either be good or bad but that's all apart of business how can we learn if we don't make any mistakes. |

Conducting this interview has definitely taught me a few things including the fact that I truly need to work on my interviewing skills in the future. This interview I was provided questions which were very well written which is something that made me realize that is a very important skill to attain in the future so that I could be getting useful information from other business owners. While I had somewhat of a minimal preestablished relationship with the interviewee I really did not know how to approach this experience which took me out of my comfort zone which is nice as this is an important part of the politics of starting a business. This highlighted all my weaknesses which I plan on working towards bettering (especially my people skills). I did learn a good amount about the business my interviewee is running and how much harder it is when you’re in the middle of it all knowing you can’t give up because this is your life goal. They also gave good reenforcing advice on how to help establish store credit and the short-term goals/ steps to focus on instead of just the big ones. This was definitely a very inspirational, reaffirming experience but at the same time scary how my interviewee made sure I knew not to give up as it seems to be a common feeling when starting off. I feel the most important topic we touched on and what I’ve seen to be a big deal to most businesses is social media presence. Social media can make or break your business, if there's nothing then people are less likely to want to check out your location meanwhile someplace go viral and start selling out daily due to one post. |
