The most meaningful thing about this project to me was getting an understanding of how an entrepreneur's head works in all the facets mentioned in the questions. A statement that really stood out to me was in the answer to question 8. The statement being that although it seems logical that in order to succeed you need to work hard 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, it's even more important to take care of yourself because your business is you. As a result, if you're not operating on all cylinders, your business isn't either, and you're only going to end up doing more bad than good. I think the reason this stood out to me so much is because I don't think I've ever heard it be said, usually the mentality I hear presented in most people who are successful is that you have to work to the degree of over working yourself.

Another thing I really liked about doing this project was that after interviewing this business owner, I was able to be real with myself for a second, and after reflecting, I realized that if I ever want to start a business, I am capable of doing so. Another idea stood out to me was the idea of being courageous enough to take chances and try new things. Ideas are the groundwork for anything, but if you don't have the ability to follow through, you're only living in thoughts and that's not reality. As a result of all of this, I've come out with a few jewels of information, and I hope to soon apply them.

What was most meaningful to me about this project was that the person I Interviewed is someone that I care about and respect. By doing this interview I got to learn a little more about his life and the struggles he had to endure while opening his own business. Conducting this interview also gave me a great prospective on what steps I need to take when I consider opening my own business. I learned that working with family members can be a challenging thing, especially if you are losing money because there is some internal theft going on. This project helped me understand what we are talking about in class and kind of piece everything together. I was amazed how most of the things that were being said to me by my interviewee went hand in hand with what we have been talking about in class. At times It seemed like the person I interviewed was taking the same class I’m taking.
This interview also showed me that no matter how hard the road could be and how many obstacles arise when starting a new business, you can’t give up. I know that many times we might have a great idea of a business but then we get to the part where we realize how much money is needed to start a business and we get discouraged. This interview showed me that there are different types of financial sources I could investigate, that could allow me to jumpstart my small business. Knowing all these things gives me a more profound encouragement. Knowing that someone struggled but kept fighting for what he believed, makes me believe that it could be done. This project helped me understand a little better what professor Jagodka is teaching. Great idea on having students do this project.

The most meaningful part of the project was probably the interview itself. Since it allowed me to ask some questions about how to start a small business, what is needed, and what is best to focus on. I was able to gain a better understanding on what procedures to follow to get a small business running. I've been wanting to look into small businesses more, especially small art businesses. So being able to reach out to someone and network with them has been fun and helpful. Not to mention that also referred me to other people who would be happy to help.

I had a really meaningful experience recently when I got to bond with my boss over entrepreneurship. We talked about how hard he has been working to make his business grow and I got to see firsthand the amount of effort he puts into his job and the love he has for it. It was really inspiring to see someone who is so passionate about what they do and who is willing to put in the time and dedication required to succeed. As we talked, I learned about the challenges my boss has faced in growing his business and the strategies he has used to overcome them. I think this knowledge will be really valuable as I continue to work with him and learn from his experiences. Plus, it was really cool to discover that we share a common interest in entrepreneurship. It made me feel like we had more in common than I realized and I think it will help us work together more effectively in the future.

Learning about his experiences and strategies has been incredibly valuable to me, both personally and professionally. It's given me a better understanding of what it takes to succeed in this industry, and I feel like I have a better sense of how I can contribute to our company's growth. I'm grateful that my boss was willing to share his insights with me and I'm excited to continue learning from him in the future. Hearing about his experiences and the strategies he has used to overcome obstacles was incredibly valuable to me. I feel like I now have a better understanding of what it takes to succeed in this field and I am better equipped to navigate similar challenges in my own work. Overall, this experience has been really meaningful to me and I'm so glad that I had the chance to learn so much.

The most meaningful to me were knowing how to start up a business and planning and knowing what to do when we need to think fast. This project, helps me understand that small businesses do have different struggles with maintaining a business whether it is understaffed or lacks attracting customers and or not as popular as chain businesses. I did interview a family business, and I would say that knowing the time and place for family and work even though it is a mix of both is one of the most challenging to understand. In my experience, we barely have family time, and if we do it would be late at night or we would have to close the shop. Especially when the entrepreneur that I interviewed, had dealt with problems of different relatives doing different working positions because of bad management.
Additionally, I'd like to add that knowing where to get your sources and knowing how to introduce yourself, and building the bond with suppliers. I learned from my interview that people can succeed without having a degree, and even though some people would like to achieve that goal, everyone's path is different. These entrepreneurs showed passion and integrity for knowing what their products and services are and would encourage customers to try them. Even though I did not put this in the interview, I remember the entrepreneur did speak about having her inspiration from their mother that loves to cook, and they wanted to continue the tradition of having a passion for cooking. I remember reflecting on that and I also want to keep that family tradition alive about sharing those traditional meals and having a positive mindset.

Firstly, the importance of focusing on customer needs and providing exceptional customer service stood out as a recurring theme in several answers. It is essential for businesses to understand their customers' needs and preferences and tailor their products and services accordingly. This requires ongoing communication and feedback from customers, as well as a commitment to continuously improving and innovating. Secondly, the importance of staying up to date with industry trends and regulations was emphasized. The business environment is constantly changing, and businesses that fail to adapt risk falling behind. By staying informed and proactive, businesses can identify opportunities and threats, make informed decisions, and maintain a competitive edge. Thirdly, the importance of building a strong team and prioritizing employee satisfaction and well being was mentioned. Employees are the backbone of any successful business, and investing in their training and development can lead to increased productivity, innovation, and job satisfaction. By creating a positive workplace culture, businesses can attract and retain top talent and build a strong and loyal team. Fourthly, the importance of being adaptable and flexible was emphasized. The business world is unpredictable, and businesses that are able to pivot and adjust their strategies in response to changing market conditions or customer demands are more likely to succeed. This requires a willingness to take risks, experiment with new ideas, and learn from both successes and failures. Overall, the most meaningful takeaway is that starting and growing a successful business requires a combination of hard work, dedication, innovation, and adaptability. By prioritizing customer needs, building a strong team, staying informed and proactive, and being willing to adapt and experiment, entrepreneurs can increase their chances of success and achieve their goals.

I think that this project was a really good idea to do. As a student, I don’t really have the chance to talk with someone that is an entrepreneur or that has started a business. I might have people around me that have companies or societies, but having a project that is required from school gave me the opportunity to actually learn more about the subject and to talk business with someone. It is really interesting to have a point of view from someone that is managing a business since a lot of years and that has acquired some experience. Moreover this interview is helpful as I would like to begin my own business in the future. I think that the first step before creating a business is to get into a sector that we like.

By conducting this interview, I learn that having skills in some domains such as managing, accounting, and marketing could be really helpful before creating and developing a business. Indeed, managing a business on your own is really difficult as there are plenty of people that are having the same main idea. Those people are going to try to compete with you so you need to find a way to stand out and create a competitive advantage. Moreover having advices on finances from an entrepreneur is great. You also need to be able to adapt yourself when you are facing some struggles that are either permanent or temporary. Furthermore as the society is evolving pretty fast, there are always going to be some changes in the technological area. You need to be ready and try to adapt quickly.

During the course interview, I had the time, space, and ability to analyze my business plans, strategies, and former decisions. I have two primary takeaways from this interaction with the CEO. The first takeaway surrounds my insight into my career, business, and personal goals. When I started this journey, I didn't realize that so much information was available, including resources that could aid my professional and personal development. The CEO I interviewed answered some of my biggest questions as a business owner. The interview is one of the most valuable experiences I have ever had, but it has also opened my mind to new possibilities, including narrowing down my blue ocean strategy. I would not have gained the insight I have now if I had not done this.

The second takeaway from this interview is planning and realizing that I need a team. An A-Team can come in many forms, whether you hire them as consultants or permanent employees or seek out mentors. We are not supposed to go on our journey alone. There are vast amounts of knowledge, and it will not be possible to learn every single piece of it, so therefore, it is more efficient and viable to focus on one thing that I am very good at and leave the rest up to other people who do the same for those respective things. That not only benefits the whole but also draws on the talent of each person. It is also all right to ask questions I am afraid to ask, ask for help because I need it, and lean on the ever developing and growing technology here to assist us and skills that keep up with those new technologies.
