I knew that I liked working in the ac and heater business because I got to work with my hands and I was glad that I was not stuck in an office. But I did not like the position that I was in, so I just knew that in order to get better working hours, I would have to work for myself, therefore I just decided to branch out and create my own business. When I started this business about five years ago the cell phone industry was really starting to develop. People who had never owned a cell phone before were now starting to own up to the idea that having the cell phone was more than a luxury, it was actually now a necessity. The problem that I noticed is that it was kind of difficult to buy a cell phone at that time. You had to have great credit, if your credit wasn't that good they would make you pay a very big deposit, up to $800 in some cases. And if you had very poor credit then you would have to pay the full price for the phone, up to $1000 in some cases. Now if you had great credit and met all their requirements, you still ran into a huge problem, you had to sign a 2 year contract. One of the main issues with that was that if your phone broke before your 2 year commitment, you had to buy a new phone at full retail price, which like a said earlier would cost you upwards of $600. At that point in time I also started noticing another big trend, people were starting to upgrade their phones every two years. And companies that would give phones to their employees were also upgrading phones every other year. So I asked myself: what's happening with all these pre owned cell phones? So I did my research. And most of them were still perfectly good working phones but were ending in landfills somewhere because no one knew what to do with them. That was bad for the environment but it also was an opportunity to make a difference and make a profit at the same time. Our goal basically was and is to make cell phones and communication affordable and easy to obtain while also helping the environment.

I was one of the blessed ones that took every opportunity that came my way and worked very hard to be where I am. I first started in the construction business in 1993. Upon attending my construction licensing class back in 1992 I met my former business partner. We decided to join forces and open a construction company together. For 15 years we ran a successful company, however I still wanted something to call my own. I then decided on leaving the company to build my own. This was very hard because when I left I had a lawsuit, which denied access to any of my former clients for a year. This was seemed like I had to start all over. In the beginning, back in 1993, my initial goal was to be able to provide for my wife, 2 boys, and my newborn baby girl. After my best friend started his business and imposed the idea of me starting my own business; I thought about it and even expressed the idea to my family and friends. It wasn’t until my uncle offered to lend me the money to start my business; that I really got serious about starting my own company. When starting my business my goal was just to be able to spend more time with my family and friends and less time working a 9-5 job. I’m also considering starting an extension of my company by not only delivering load across the country but locally as well.
