The irony of it all is I did not decide to get into this business, I needed a job, my field is accounting, and I answered an ad for an accountant at a charter bus company. I was hired, soon after I learned all aspects if the business in the small office of a husband and wife team is all there was, and we multi-tasked and exchanged ideas on how to build the business. I enjoyed the work, since I am a people person and the work involves dealing with different people every day.

Starting my own business is my personal interest and solve my little problems. My initial goal is to develop and unique shopping experience in a rapidly growing market, such as China. Taobao is similar with Ebay in China. People open their online store and sell the products. I always surf on the Internet, but there is few things attract me. I went to many countries, I like to buy some interesting things and give them to my friends or family. Sometimes I want to buy a birthday gift for my friends on Taobao, but I always feel there’ s nothing to buy. So I decided to open my store to help other people who has the same problems with me. Then I do some survey and asked some people, I started my own business. We offer good quality product and interesting stuffs. We give our advice to our customers. We want to offer them a good online shopping experience.

I decided to get into this business because it was something I was familiar with. Being a single mother my life revolves around my kids and I believed I could help other families when they could not. My initial goal was fast, reliable, and large income to pay a mortgage and raise a family by myself. This job requires no degree and no extra education. Which was perfect for me because I have no education following high school.

Description: LIQUOR STORE
I did my decision only based on my skill set and experience on my previous job. I had been working on the retail environment for at least fifteen years and during that time I have learned most of the skill necessary in running a small business. My initial goal was to learn as much as possible of the business that I was getting into. Find about the laws and permit required, then I needed to evaluate my financial situation. I also got help from business adviser and CPA. They would provide realistic insight about the business and any pitfall or complication that I might encounter during the start up. lastly you need the support of your family to make sure there will any conflict later on.

NAICS: 812 Personal and Laundry Services
Description: Hair dresser and stylest
I got into this business because my mother always asked me to go to beauty school, because when I was growing up I was always playing with my sister’s hair. And when I got pregnant I had a choice to go to either beauty or cashier school. My husband thought that beauty school would be the best choice and after 5 years I decided that I wanted to work for myself. My initial goal was to own my own beauty shop which I did for 15 years, and have people working under me. I then realized that I no longer wanted to be in charge of anyone else, but myself. So I rent out my own chair and run my business through another beauty salon.

NAICS: 713 Amusement, Gambling, and Recreation Industries
Description: Video Game Company
“We didn’t know what we were doing,” [Name Removed] told me bluntly. “None of us had any experience. We happened to come in at a good time in the industry when a lot of people didn’t know what they were doing. Going to 3D. It was the end of the 8-bit platforms and the start of something new. Nobody really had a firm grasp on it at that point. I think we were pretty lucky to parachute in at that particular time. But yeah, doing a sort of Doom clone, it felt doable.” Interestingly, the game didn’t begin as a PlayStation game, but as a game for Panasonic’s ultra-expensive and ultimately failed console 3DO. And Universal Interactive Studios – not Sony – was Insomniac’s first publisher. “We began on 3DO because when I started Insomniac, 3DO was the first really viable CD-based system out on the market,” [Name Removed] explained. “They had dev kits available for very low prices. And Sony, at the time, wasn’t making dev kits available to everybody. So I was able to purchase a dev kit for about $8,000. We kind of set our path.”

I decided to get into this type of business to help horses and dogs that have problems. I wanted to help horses that traditional medicine would not work on. I got into it because I had my own horses treated for years and then had my back treated, and realized that it really does work. After that I wanted to help horses and make horses feel better so that they won’t get retired early from a simple injury. I can help most injuries if used early enough and had my own injuries fixed using this type of therapy. My initial goal was and still is to help horses, you don’t get into this type of business for the money, and you get into it to help horses that are in pain.

NAICS: 238 Specialty Trade Contractors
Description: Contractor Electric
You have to really like or love what you are doing to fully enjoy it. I love it! You cannot go into business without loving what you are doing but I love doing what I am doing. I like complications; I like the diagram of circuits and the theory of it. I also enjoyed studying about circuits and like the idea of having to make accurate calculations plus the installment. Sometimes I do not make the amount of money that I hoped for but I still love and enjoy my job. I love being an electric contractor! My initial is to make a lot of money, to be the first Hmong electrician and to have the first contractor company. Those were my initial goal but at the end of the day, money does not matter but what it is I do that matters.

I used to play in bands but the bands I would play in were never really making money. We would sell merchandise but then we had to pay for the tour bus and our crew so that ate up all our money and I decided I didn't want to tour anymore because I eventually wanted to have my own nice house and a family and with music that wasn't happening for me. So I started thinking about what else I was passionate about besides music and thats fashion. Ive always wanted to design my own clothing and have my own brand but a brand that speaks to people, I want my company to be like a family and have our customers apart of this family and just represent being different and come together to spread positivity in a unique cool way. So you can say my goals were to become successful so I can live the lifestyle I want and to start a brand that is like a family and represents something positive.
