         Well I've always loved animals, especially dogs. I knew that I definitely wanted to work with animals. I worked as a veterinary assistant for a while before I got into pet grooming. And it was ok, but I really didn't enjoy my job because it was always so depressing. I mean the job itself was just so negative, animals were always sick or hurt. It just wasn't fun to have to put animals down and see the owners so sad you know? I couldn't take it anymore so I started to look for something else that involved animals.           I tried pet grooming and I really enjoyed that so much better. I found a job working under a nice lady who taught me a lot about the trade itself. I worked for her for a while and then I started noticing things that I would do differently or not at all if I owned my own business. So I opened my own business and this is where I am today. I've been grooming dogs for about 23 years now and I absolutely love it. The work is hard but its positive and that's what I like about it. The grooming is for the most part a very positive experience for both the dog and the owner. I like the results of getting to make the dogs healthier and more comfortable and seeing the customers happy reaction to it.                 I never really had an initial goal. I didn't really ever plan on owning my own business one day it just kind of happened as time went by. I guess my inital goal, subconsciously anyway, was to work with animals in a positive way.

I decided to start my own business because I had previous experience as a single truck driver and I honestly just got tired of doing it. As I learned about the business I became more and more interested. Of course being married and then starting a family it was hard to be away from home so I need something a little more stable. Previous job experience helped a lot understating how to run my business and how to manage it.  My dream had always been to own a large company, but eventually I plan on doing so. My family and my success have been my motivators for my business and I hope it grows.

My husband and I initially decided to get into this business just to make some quick cash. A friend of ours had purchased a very expensive pair of shoes that he found at a warehouse. They didn’t end up fitting him right so he listed them on eBay. He thought he would try to make some money off of them and marked the price up by 110%. The shoes sold right away! My husband and I were struggling financially and decided to give it a try. We started by selling Sketchers and by the end of the first day we had over 50 shoes sold. We were able to get out of our financial rut and continued to sell not only Sketchers but many other name brand shoes, purses and jewelry. Our business is still growing and me and my husband are absolutely thrilled. We never expected to become this successful.

Truthfully, this business was not actually my vision at first. You see, my background is in construction and remodeling, at the time,  I had been working my way up the ladder and pondering how I could turn my work experience into a business of my own. This is when my partner, an ultrasound technician, came to me with the idea to open an ultrasound clinic of our own. At first, I was skeptical and naturally wanted to stick to what I knew, but after much consideration and research it soon it became very obvious to me that opening a clinic for expecting mothers would not only allow for a quicker start but it would also hold better future for me and my partner. Our initial goal was only to survive, but we are now in the process of opening a second location and have expanded to providing wholesale items related to our field of business.
