It's in an area that's easy to get to and very popular so there's always people coming in and out. By opening this shop I've made so many new friendships with consigners and their families and their friends.

I decided to enter this type of business because it’s one of those businesses where you do not really need any sort of special training to enter. Since it is making donuts and other baked goods, the best way for me to learn how to do all of these things was just doing them over and over again. That way you get a feel for what you are doing and you can know to which extent you can do things because if you think about it, no one knows yourself better than you. Another reason I chose this kind of business is that when I first started, my English was pretty bad, but in order to help customers, you do not need a very broad range of words, just being able to say, "Good Morning" or "Thank You" was decent enough to get by. My initial goal for starting this business was simply to make a living for myself and to support my family.

I did not decide to get into this business the normal way. It was my son’s first birthday and the cake I ordered had his name misspelled and was the wrong flavor. The next business day I went to let the owner of the bakery know and his only response was, “Well, did you eat it?” I saw he did not get the point. I had always been good with my hands and then decided I would make the next cake myself. I started taking classes and realized there was no place I could go to buy all the items to make custom cakes. The instructors of the classes would always send you to three or four different stores. I realized that I really wished there was a place to buy everything at once. My goal was to be able to pay for college for my sons. I wanted them to be able to go and not have to worry about the debt that they might have after. They hated it because they had to work in the store when they were little. When they graduated they realized how beneficial it really was.

To make a hell of a lot of money, ha-ha. No I decided to get into this type of business because I have been doing this for about 30 years. It was something small at first going to dealerships, and helping install newer items; such as blue tooth, and radios. My initial goal was to not sell a product that didn’t work. For example somebody can have a set idea of what they want in their car. However just because they heard it in their friends car does not mean it is going to work in their car, due to the speaker placement, or just the car itself. But really in time my goal is to hand down the business and the good reputation to my kids and down to their kids, and so on.
