Faculty Resources - Career Exploration & preparation

Description

The FREE Career Exploration Assignment is a web resource that is easy to navigate and understand yet offers comprehensive and meaningful information specific to career preparation and development. It provides multiple methods to easily identify, research and prepare for careers and jobs (all on one page). It is a tool to help clarify what is commonly an overwhelming process for most students.  These resources have been designed for quick and easy integration into a course (as an assignment) or a service (as an augmentation to existing career/job preparation  and development services).

The Career Exploration Assignment goal is one of student equity:

Ensure 100% of students are engaged in career exploration/preparation, without becoming overwhelmed, through completion of the Career Exploration Assignment (Canvas), and referral for additional student career services.

This resource was developed to assist faculty/staff to easily infuse a career preparation activity/assignment into their classroom. It was designed to be easy to use, yet comprehensive. Multiple ways to get started exploring careers (based on need) are provided to facilitate an intuitive approach.  Introducing career preparation and exploration into the classroom provides the ideal starting point for student referrals to subsequently engage with career preparation services at the institution.
